Creation Day Festival - Meet The Acts

Creation day is brand new two-day festival summer 2021 (29-30 May), with a whopper of a line up, exclusively curated by Alan McGee.

The extensive line-up the likes of Echo and The Bunnymen, Happy Mondays and ever-rising newcomers such as The Clockworks and Shambolics, this amalgamation of some of the countries brightest alternative and rock talents is set to be one epic party.

McGee formed creation records in the early 80's and has worked with music legends such as Oasis, Primal Scream and The Jesus and Mary Chain.

Speaking about the inaugural Creation Day festival, the legend behind it, McGee says:

"I’m looking forward to this one, some of the best old bands with some of the best new bands. I can’t wait to come and bring it all to Wolverhampton. Creation Day is the first time we have done anything like this since doing it for the kids. Hopefully we can do this every year.”


Happy Mondays 

Well known for their funky style and lead singer, Shaun Ryder and eccentric maraca mogul Bez. The band emerged out of the 'Madchester' scene of the late 80's and soon became one of the greatest acts to come out of the capital of the north.

The rock/ acid-house sensation, join the lineup alongside Ryder's other project 'Black Grape', and it'll be the first time he's performed as both acts on one mega line-up.

Echo and The Bunnymen

Famed for thier melancholy vocals, post-punk vibe and poetic lyrics, the band have more than certainly earned their place in the hall of rock 'n roll legends, their legacy will see them perform on the mainstage, delivering what is a sure to be an unforgettable set.

Editors

After shooting onto the scene with their debut album in 2005, they have released a further 5 studio albums and headlined a plethora of major festivals. With their impressive resume, headlining this festival is sure to be a highlight of their boistrous career.

Friendly Fires

Hertfordshire hailing rock band 'Friendly Fires' are sure to bring their energetic 80's vibes amd electro -punk to brighten up Wolverhampton and give us a show to remember.

The Clockworks

Irish rock quartet, The Clockworks, are one of McGee's most recent discoveries. Dobbed as being 'The Streets with guitars', this band are teeming with potential.

Glasvegas

Their long awaited fourth album 'Godspeed' will be released early next year. The debut single off the album is a gritty story-telling of drug addiction and broken lives. Their upcoming album is sure to be overflowing with dance-floor fillers and deliver huge commerical success.

Shambolics

Up-and-coming rock band 'Shambolics' are well known for their euphoria inducing bass lines perfectly intertwined with punchy guitar riffs. The band are truly a rare encounter with truly infectious lyrics.

After having recently released fan favourite 'Love Collides' and a stream of UK tour dates for 2021, Scottish prodegies will be joining this star-studded line-up as one of McGee's most recent signees.
